After giving New looks to all its sub-services like Gmail , blogger etc . Now the Big 'G' has introduced a new feature , Yes my friends , Google has launched its new, public demanded , and innovative feature i.e up-to 10 GB attachment in Gmail. Now you can send up-to 10 GB email to your friend .
The Limit of the sending only '25 MB' through attached file is no more . That clearly shows Google Listens to its customers . This has been made possible by Google by its cloud storage service , i.e Google Drive - which allows users to save their information,document etc to save online in a Google storehouse , its much like Microsoft's Sky-drive and a much popular Android's Drop-box .
Google has attached its Gmail Mailing System with Google Drive , now when a user uploads his/her file to Gmail , it is uploaded to the Google cloud storage . its much like cloud storage 'Media-Fire' which allows a user to upload files online and then any user world wide can access and download it. The only difference in this new feature is that , by this feature their's no need to leave your New look Gmail inbox , you can directly upload files in the inbox and send it to the required person.
One of the drawback of this new feature , which is exactly not a drawback is that , this feature is only available in the new look Gmail inbox ,not the old HTML version . So, if for any reason you switched to the old look now you have to return back to the New innovative look .
Phil Sharp , the product manager of Gmail , posted : "You can insert files directly into an email without leaving your Gmail" He further said , With Google Drive you can insert up-to 10 files , i.e 400 times more than the traditional attachment size .
One other feature of the 10 GB attachment is , that if all the recipients of the sent email are not able to access the Google Drive , Then the Mailing system Gmail ,will ask the user to change a particular setting and then the user will be able to receive that file . For ex. if someone has set the old layout then Gmail will ask to switch to the new layout , for receiving that attached mail .
Furthermore user have the facility to upload files directly to GOOGLE DRIVE and then share the links of the uploaded file to any-one so that the other person may download that file .
NOTE : This feature is only available in the NEW look of Gmail , traditional look and unsupported browsers not yet provided with this feature .
